But when she sees Snow White she undergoes a psychotic break that results in a murderous rage. According to psychologist Bruno Bettelheim, the magic mirror is a catalyst of Oedipal rage: Snow White is the Wicked Queens daughter, the younger, sexier version of herself. The mirror is magic because it tells the truth across all boundaries of space and time.
